Are you excited about the potential of Badgers Hill Stadium, football in Frome and enabling the wider Frome community to benefit from these great facilities?  

After a community meeting attended by over 125 people in October, groups of residents set to work to explore what the future for Badgers Hill and Frome Town Football Club could look like. With support from the Football Supporters Association (FSA) and inspired by the example of community-owned football clubs across the country, they have now registered a new Community Benefit Society (CBS). Read about its purpose here. The CBS will provide a fresh start for Frome Town Football Club and secure its future. The club will still manage the day to day running of first team football affairs but with support and oversight from the CBS. 

The founding members are now looking to expand their group, and recruit a team of voluntary coordinators who have the skills and time to work together and shape the future. Their task will be to set up the CBS, develop the vision, recruit members and lead it to its first Annual General Meeting (AGM) later this year, where they can choose to stand for election as directors or handover to a newly elected Board. 

We are looking to recruit a team that represents the full diversity of Frome and to be representative of football and wider community stakeholders. There are 8 roles on the board that are essential for making this a success. We are hoping that you may have the time, skills and experience to apply.

Role description & person specifications:

1. Head of Facilities  The director of facilities will work with the rest of the board to develop the plan for the Badgers Hill site and its facilities, liaising with its tenants. In the short term, the person will work with the team at Frome Town Council and the existing football club to ensure that the site is safe to use. This person will chair the facilities group that includes representatives from all site stakeholders. Experience in hospitality/ building trade/ facility / grounds management or site safety desired.  Ability to work in partnership and manage contractors. 
2. Head of Football  This person will focus on facilitating collaboration between the various local football teams, explore new opportunities for football in Frome, and liaise with Frome Town Football Club. This person will chair a committee that all Frome football teams will be invited to join.Knowledge and experience in non-league football at all levels Experience in facilitating groups of stakeholders for mutual benefit.  
3. Head of Community Offers  This person will assure that the wider community not yet involved in Football and Badgers Hill will benefit from its facilities. Their task will include developing and implementing community activities, and chairing a committee open to people interested in how the site can best deliver community benefit. Experience working in the community, youth or charity sector
Experience in community engagement in Frome and designing community offers.
4. Head of Fundraising  This person will focus on raising funds through grants, sponsorship and fundraising activities, working closely with Frome Town AFC’s fundraising team and volunteers interested to support this.Experience in raising funds in the third sector Experience in building commercial relationships and gaining sponsorship. 
5. Head of Communications & Member engagement  This person will engage people interested in the CBS to help shape its vision and ensure that the activities of the CBS are well communicated and advertised. They will lead on creating and launching the public offer to become a member of the CBS.Experience in marketing, communication and/or sales is essential. Experience in community engagement and developing a community membership offer desired. 
6. Treasurer  The treasurer will be responsible for preparing and reporting on the budget, and setting up the financial management of the CBS.Accountancy, financial management and/or book-keeping experience are essential. 
7. Secretary  The secretary role is to ensure compliance with the Community Benefit Society regulators – Financial Compliance Authority and Companies House. Board level experience
Experience as a company director or trustee is essential. 
8. Chair   The role of the chair is to facilitate decision making and collaboration between board members, chair meetings and set up agreements with all external stakeholders.Board level experience preferably with Chair experience.


All candidates need to commit to working together for at least 6 months – until the first AGM , and have interest in putting themselves forward to be part of the board going forward. The board will meet every 2 weeks, and each member will be expected to complete tasks related to their role in between meetings. This is estimated to take no less than 4 hours a week.
